Norway’s Siem Offshore has announced that subsidiary Secunda Canada has been awarded a 2-year firm contract, plus 12 monthly options by ExxonMobil Canada for AHTS vessels Burin Sea and Trinity Sea.
The pair will join the Siem Hanne and Venture Sea in supporting operations at the Sable Offshore Energy Project offshore Nova Scotia.
The company said the award further demonstrates its long-term position in the Canadian offshore.

Venture Sea and Siem Hanne awarded 3 year ExxonMobil Contracts

Siem Offshore, through its wholly owned subsidiary Secunda Canada LP, has been awarded charter contracts for two of its vessels, "Venture Sea" and "Siem Hanne", by ExxonMobil Canada.
The duration of the charters are for a term of approximately three years, plus options, allowing for the continuation of services to the Sable Project.
This contract enables Secunda to continue its long-term presence in the Nova Scotia offshore. The two vessels will operate out of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and be supported from Secunda's Dartmouth office.

Secunda Canada Takes Delivery of Avalon Sea and Siem Offshore Acquires 100% of Secunda Canada LP

The AHTS vessel Avalon Sea was successfully delivered from Remontowa Shipyard to Secunda Canada LP on May 12, 2016. The vessel is specially designed and equipped for Canadian waters and will go on a six year contract with an international oil company before June 1st 2016. The vessel represents a significant step in the development of Secunda and the modernization of its tonnage.
As part of a recapitalization of Secunda, Siem Offshore has acquired Birch Hill’s 50% ownership interest in Secunda Canada and has provided the required capital finance the vessel acquisition and importation costs of and other working capital items. Avalon Sea will be the most advanced vessel in the Canadian market and will support two large production fields, Hibernia and Hebron.
With this transaction, Siem Offshore becomes the 100% owner of Secunda Canada and supports our long term commitment to the Canadian market. The acquisition of the remaining 50% of the shares, which was previously contemplated in an Investor Agreement with Birch Hill, will not have a significant cash flow effect for Siem Offshore.

This year, Adam Howell-Dyson and Amber Costello were awarded the Secunda Canada's 2014 Employment Equity Scholarships at the Fisheries and Marine Institute at Memorial University! Both are first year Nautical Science students seeking a career as a Navigation Officer upon graduation. These scholarships recognize the importance of diversity at work and our commitment to employment equity.

Secunda Secures Contract with Husky Energy Offshore Newfoundland and Labrador

Secunda Canada LP has been awarded a contract to provide Offshore Support Vessel services at Husky Energy's Whiterose Project offshore Newfoundland and Labrador. Secunda will utilize the vessel Scotian Sea for Re-Supply and Standby Rescue duties for the remainder of the year with options into 2015. The vessel is a purpose-built Standby Rescue and ROV support vessel with cargo capacities of a medium-sized PSV.

Secunda Awarded Contract Using Vessel Seabed Prince for Integrated Subsea Services Offshore Nova Scotia

Secunda Canada LP has been awarded a contract to provide integrated Subsea Vessel and WROV services at ExxonMobil's Sable Project offshore Nova Scotia. Secunda will utilize the vessel Seabed Prince for IMR duties during November and December of this year (2014). The vessel is a high-specification, purpose-built subsea IMR vessel for harsh weather operations. Secunda Awarded Contract to Support Hibernia and Hebron Offshore Operations

Secunda Canada is proud to announce that Secunda has entered into an agreement with Hibernia Management and Development Company Ltd (HMDC) and ExxonMobil Canada Properties (the "Charterers") for a five (5) year firm contract, plus a total of 15 years options at Charterers' discretion, to support the Hibernia and Hebron fields offshore Newfoundland and Labrador.
Idar Hillersoy, CEO of Secunda made the announcement stating, "This contract is an important next step in Secunda's plans for fleet renewal and growth in the Canadian market".
Secunda will be building one offshore support vessel of Rolls Royce, UT 782WP design, with delivery end 2015. Vessel design and concept development has been developed through close collaboration with our part-owner Siem Offshore, Rolls-Royce and Secunda. The design has been optimized bow to stern for the demanding scope and harsh Grand Banks conditions including all the latest technologies related to safety for vessel crew and operation. At the heart of the vessel is the robust hybrid propulsion system which increases the vessels operational flexibility and reduces fuel consumption.
The vessel's main role will be the transport of cargo, with ancillary roles including ice management, and anchor handling.
Secunda has supported ExxonMobil Canada's offshore operation support vessels in Atlantic Canada for nearly two decades. Secunda Canada Scholarships Awarded at Marine Institute

Secunda Canada has a long legacy of providing offshore, vessel-based sea training programs for students of the Fisheries and Marine Institute at Memorial University.
This year, Secunda has expanded its tradition of investing in young people entering the marine industry, through the introduction of two scholarships.
The Secunda Canada Scholarship is awarded to first year marine engineering and nautical science students with preference given to employment equity candidates. These scholarships recognize the importance of workplace diversity and excellence in strengthening Secunda's business.
Two Secunda Canada scholarships were among those awarded at the Fisheries and Marine Institute's annual Autumn Presentation of Scholarships and Awards ceremony on November 19, 2013.
Ryan House and Irving Powell, both first year Nautical Science students, were recipients of the 2013 Secunda Canada Scholarship. Congratulations and best wishes to Ryan and Irving as they continue their studies!

Secunda Gains Norwegian Partner

Secunda Canada LP ("Secunda") has joined forces with Norwegian-based Siem Offshore
("Siem") in a move that Secunda Chair, Paul Henry, calls a major development for the east coast offshore sector.
Henry and Siem's CEO, Terje Sorensen, announced today that Siem has acquired a 50 per cent ownership stake in
Nova Scotia founded Secunda, the operator of a harsh-weather fleet of offshore support vessels with more than
two decades of experience serving the oil and gas industry.
In making the announcement, Henry said, "Siem is the perfect partner for our organization. They bring vast
experience in offshore vessel operations with a fleet of 36 vessels in operation and 11 under construction. The
young and modern fleet is amongst the most technologically advanced in the world. Siem's new building program
reflects the latest available technology in use to meet increased demands from clients and operational
environment, improved cost-efficiency and low fuel consumption. Siem's fleet will significantly enhance Secunda's
growth strategy."
Sorensen noted that Siem already has operational experience from many offshore jurisdictions including the North
Sea, Arctic, Brazil, West Africa, the Mediterranean, India and the GoM. He said, "We are delighted that this
business arrangement will give us a strong position in Canada�s east coast offshore sector."
Secunda has been aiming for major growth and development since it was purchased by Birch Hill Equity Partners in
March, 2012. "It has always been Birch Hill's intention to invest in new fleet acquisition," Henry said. "This
partnership greatly enhances our ability to do that."
Secunda made a major management change earlier this year with the appointment of Idar Hillersoy as its new
President and CEO. Hillersoy has 25 years of experience in the offshore petroleum sector including a four year stint
working on the Hibernia GBS structure in Newfoundland. Since his appointment, Secunda has strengthened
operations in St. John's where Hillersoy is based.
Hillersoy lauded Siem's world-class vessel design, construction and operations technology. He said, "We are
excited about the impending prospects in the offshore markets of both Newfoundland and Nova Scotia and

The vessel arrived in St. John's, NL this morning and Secunda Canada will take the vessel through her paces to flag the vessel Canadian. Secunda's Canadian crew has been onboard for the past two weeks familiarizing themselves with the operation of the vessel. The vessel will operate for Chevron Canada supporting their drilling program in the Orphan Basin.

Secunda Canada: Purchase Of Vessel Scotian Sea

Secunda Canada LP has purchased RRV vessel Havila Runde from Havila Shipping ASA and renamed the vessel Scotian Sea.
The Scotian Sea is built in 1997 and brings Secunda's fleet to seven vessels. Secunda will operate the vessel offshore eastern Canada.
